It is located at 421 East Woodland Drive on 11.23 acres in an MR zone. Homes have a distinct single family feel within the context of Pondersa and gentle hills with a density of almost five dwelling units per acre. Homes have custom home quality within the efficiency of four standard models.
Rio Homes is a neighborhood development with more than one hundred homes. Designs include six different models and within a site that includes seven dwelling units per acre and open space with Ponderosa and outdoor amenities. Units are three or four bedroom and many also have accessory dwelling units above a two car Garage.
Manzanita Village of Prescott is a CoHousing project with 36 homes and common facilities on 13 acres on Bradshaw Drive in Prescott, Arizona. CoHousing is a concept that came from Denmark and has been growing in the United States over the past three decades. It is a model by which people are empowered to create their own neighborhood. Typically, they have twenty to forty independent homes and a Common House, where meals are shared occassionally.
PWMA joint ventured with Zucker Architecture to form COHOCOM to initiate, spear-head and design the project with a motivated group of future residents. Although there are still a few lots available, the project has now been complete and occupied for fifteen years.
